Millichope Grounds
This photo was sent in by Hazel Jeavons on the 06/03/04. Hazel took this photo when walking the Snowdrop Trail. The 'Snowdrop Trail' was in aid of Shropshire and Mid Wales Hospice and they served teas in Beambridge Clubroom afterwards. We were talking to Dennis (I think) Sutton who was gardener for many years, probably when you were at school. He is retired now although he still lives in The Lodge at the main gate. I understand that there are names carved in the Temple of former boys of the school and he has always been intrigued as to why there is the name of a girl amongst them !!
They do open the gardens under the National Gardens Scheme in the summer, on some Thursdays. It is also open on May Day. If anyone has any information on when the hall opens, can you please let me know.
Water Tank
The lead tank located in Millichope Park is dated 1843. The tank shows inscriptions of boys names from the years the school was resident there. Photo supplied by Kevin Lawley
